Game news Naughty Dog (Uncharted, The Last of Us): 3 games in the pipeline, bets are open

Considered one of the most talented studios in the industry, Naughty Dog is a firm that has its work cut out for it. A recent statement confirms that the company is working on no less than… three different games.

3 games for Naughty Dog!

Things are slowly starting to get clearer for Naughty Dog, the iconic studio to which we owe many pearls stamped PlayStation : Jak & Daxter, Uncharted or The Last of Us, it’s them and inevitably, we have to squint and open our ears when a future project is mentioned.

Except that in this case, we are not talking about one, nor two, but three games that are officially in development in the corridors of the Californian company: it’s Neil Druckmann himself (the director of The Last of Us Part II) who made the secret on Twitter by mysteriously citing three projects, with an emoji for each of them.

A message laid on the occasion of the multiple job offers shared by Naughty Dog, which seeks to swell its ranks to reach 500 employees: in other words, with three games on the go… we better understand why. Among the positions to be occupied, there are various and varied jobs such as interface designers, sound designers, level designers or even programmers, many of whom will have to be specialized in multiplayer.

A multiplayer game The Last of Us, a remake and a surprise?

Inevitably, it was enough for the theories to flourish on the web. We already know that Naughty Dog is working on an ambitious multiplayer game (and job offers prove it) which, a priori, would be none other than the online and aborted part of The Last of Us second of the name. For the occasion, it would be launched in stand-alonein the form of a free game-service : logical since we have recently known that Sony intends to launch… ten titles of the genre the next four years.

According to rather solid hallway noises (which we invite you to read very interesting details here), the second project in progress would relate to a remake of the first The Last of Us. As surprising as this rumor is, it seems rather well-founded and would result from the work initiated by an unknown team from Sony who, after years and against their will, finally gave their baby to Naughty Dog to be finished with the best expertise possible.

On the other hand, as regards the third title, the forecasts are open. On notera que Bend Studios (Days Gone, via its “design manager” Eric Jansen) quickly responded to Naughty Dog’s tweet, saying he was eager to hear about one of the three games in development. It could of course be a simple encouragement; on the other, could it be that the entity is involved in the design of a new software… in collaboration with Naughty Dog?

Anyway, no doubt: the studio has surprises in store. That’s good, it’s exactly word for word what Neil Druckmann said last January.
