Update. A Techland representative gave us some details on the lifespan of Dying Light 2. You can find the full answer below.

The visual shared by the official Dying Light Twitter account represents a very specific style of gameplay among the possibilities offered to players. With that in mind, here are some numbers we want to share:

  • A part focusing on the main story of Dying Light 2 can be completed in about 20 hours. It may take longer for some, less for others.
  • Completing all side quests, learning about world history, and interacting with all characters can take up to 80 hours or more, depending on playstyle. Dying Light 2 takes place in a complex world filled with content. , built both expansively and vertically.

For comparison, it took around 30 hours to complete the main story and side quests of the first Dying Light, but many players have invested hundreds of hours into the game.

Based on our internal QA testing, it takes around 500 hours to see all the game has to offer – find all the collectibles, listen to all the dialogue, collect all the Easter Eggs, complete all possible endings, and visit every corner of the map. We are fortunate to have a community of very passionate fans who have returned to Dying Light over the past seven years and we know they can’t wait to experience our new title.

Techland has established a roadmap for post-launch content and we look forward to sharing it in the coming weeks.

Do we always have to spend more time in games?

While we were able to discover the skill trees of the game just a few days ago, the next big meeting of the game is set for this Thursday, January 13 with a new and last episode of the series Dying 2 Know, dedicated to the behind the scenes of the game and its features.

In the meantime, we now have a very clear idea of the lifespan of the game since Techland announces no less than 500 hours to complete the game 100%! The figure may seem huge, but it is official.

Be careful, however, since this is indeed an estimate to complete all the objectives of the game down to the smallest details. The studio specifies as well as “Most players interested in the story and side quests will be able to complete the game faster, but it will still be a solid experience!” “ We also note that the developers estimate that it will take between 70 and 80 hours to complete the main story and the side quests of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, which represents about three weeks of big evenings to spend on the title.

On the networks, opinions are divided vis-à-vis the argument of the 500 hours to come to the end of the story and find all the objects in the game. Completionists are rather delighted to learn that they will be able to spend hours and hours of searching the big city of the game, but others are more reserved. Some are thus worried about the syndrome of “filling” with uninteresting quests, and recall that quality is preferable to quantity.

If you missed the previous episodes, Techland has released a summary of the Dying 2 Know which come back to exploration, combat or the open world of the game, enough to familiarize you with the title while waiting for its release on February 4.
