Good news LG’s ultra high-end 75-inch 4K TV has dropped in price

While people are only now beginning to understand what OLED is, a new technology is shaking up the TV market yet again: the Mini-LED. At LG, the world leader in OLED, the Mini-LED is called QNED and the 75-inch model we are presenting to you today is a QNED panel. We warn you, even on sale, the very high end is necessarily quite expensive.

Connoisseurs have been watching for several years now the arrival on the market of Mini-LED technology, which will probably be the next big revolution in the industry. That’s it, the general public can finally discover a piece of the future. Well, “general public” is a bit of a big word, the Mini-LED was for the moment only reserved for very high-end TVs.

This is the case with the 75QNED91 signed LG. The 75 in the name means the slab is 75 inches diagonally, which is pretty huge (190.5cm diagonally). We reassure you: thanks to the Ultra HD resolution (4K) and the precision of the Mini-Leds, you do not need to have so much distance to take full advantage of the comfort offered by a large screen: 2, 3 meters are enough.

Clear sound, HDMI 2.1, smart TV, 120 Hz, 75 inches, 2021 release and above all new screen technology … you can imagine, the launch price of such a machine is quite high … 2690 €. Right now, Son-Vidéo.com, a benchmark retailer when it comes to televisions and soundbars, is offering a great deal and is raising this nugget to € 2,189. Casually, that saves 500 €, which is far from negligible. It is rather strange to say that we are making a good deal by spending more than 2000 € on a TV, but, considering the size and the characteristics of the beast, it is nevertheless the case.

If you are familiar with it, you should have noticed right away that there are all the top-of-the-range TV markers on the market. Many people think that OLED TVs like LG’s G1 are the best the South Korean manufacturer can offer. Others will not necessarily be wrong in asserting that Mini-LED technology has more of a future and that, in this sense, it is indeed this model which is the best of LG.

Before concluding, it may be useful to take a quick look at the Mini-LED. We talk about it at length, but the definition of it may not be clear to you.

As the name suggests, a mini-LED is a tiny diode, a few microns large. In a panel like the one we are presenting today, there are several tens of thousands of mini-LEDs.

Ok, so what the hell can that be used for? First, and most importantly, it makes it possible to produce ever thinner screens. Second, and this is the point: more diodes means more brightness and more precision in the colors.

Mini-LED technology, also called “Neo QLED” by Samsung, or, as we have seen, QNED by LG, drastically increases the contrast of screens, a great advantage of OLED without the drawbacks that go with it (risk of burning or brightness to speak only of the most obvious). The AIs of the very high-end models constantly analyze the projected image to light only the LEDs that are really needed.
